Bee Folk
Embodying the air within fire, the Bee Tribe is the closest thing to a monastic community that the Otherworlds possess. They live and work together much like the bees of this world, with a head priestess or Queen as the focal point for their efforts. Bees send the vibrations of their chants out into the world, not changing the threads of wyrd, but making them hum, setting up resonances in the surrounding threads.
Bees teach discipline in chant, meditation, and movement. All of their techniques are focused around inducing a trance-like state where one can be made aware of the threads of wyrd that surround them. Once this state has been achieved, voice and movement are used to set up answering vibrations in the surrounding threads. Bees are builders of peace and prosperity, harmonizing themselves with the world around them. They also train the martial disciplines, because like their insect counterparts, they also understand that sometimes great sacrifice must be made to preserve the hive.
Bees are masters of group ritual, artfully managing to combine the energies of their entire hive to a single purpose if they so desire. Like the Cat and Deer folk, theirs is also profoundly sensual work—though they live communally and with great discipline, they are not celibate monks! Indeed, community is very important to Bees, and associating with them in the Otherworlds can serve to broaden both social circles and communication skills in this world.
The Bee Tribe is one of the most exotic Otherworldly clans. Their people tend to be tall and thin, and enjoy wearing brightly colored, loose fitting clothes. They have a love of gold and amber, and wear all manner of jewelry, enjoying the musical clinking of bracelets and earrings as they move. Bees seem to spend much of their time in human form, with little outward trace of their insect natures. They are generally soft spoken, and unsurprisingly, spend much of their time humming to themselves as they go about their daily work.
